John William Cummings

John Williams Cummings, 62, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away January 18, 2019 at his home. He was born February 8, 1956 in Ventura, California. Son of William and Cecelia Gray Cummings. John married April Lebsack on November 2, 1993 in Little Rock, Arkansas. John was an avid computer lover. He worked in I.T. for Kansas City Southern Railroad for most of his life. He enjoyed boating, sports, but especially basketball. He played for the Fresno State University Basketball team in his younger years. He valued time spent with his kids and family, they were the light of his life. John is preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter. He is survived by his wife April of 26 years; four sons, Gavin (Katie) Cummings of San Francisco, California, Grant (Emily) Cummings of Twin Falls, Idaho, and twins, Noah and Gabriel Cummings of Topeka, Kansas; and eleven grandchildren. Memorial service will be Friday, February 8, 2019 at Topeka Bible Church at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Diabetes Association and sent in the care of Brennan Mathena Funeral Home. 800 SW Sixth Ave, Topeka, KS 66603.
