Joyce Romero

Joyce V. Romero, 65, of Topeka, KS died December 30., 2021 at her home. 

She was born July 2, 1956, in El Paso, TX the daughter of Salvador and Pilar (Vargas) Romero. Joyce received a degree in Political Science from Benedictine College in Atchison and then attended the University of Kansas.

She worked as secretary for the Department of Aging and served on the USD #501 School Board and was active in Kansas politics her entire life.

Joyce is survived by her parents, Salvador and Pilar Romero, a sister, Marisol Romo and her 2 children and a host of extended family that reside in El Paso, TX and throughout Kansas and elsewhere.

The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Following the rosary, the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial of her urn will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
