TSgt Wesley W. Kubie

TSgt Wesley “Wes” W. Kubie, 30 of Salina, formerly of Topeka died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in McPherson, KS due to injuries sustained from a vehicle accident during military training at the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range.

He was born December 8, 1990 in Merriam, KS the son of Bruce and Diana (Roberts) Kubie.

TSgt Wesley Kubie was an Active Guard Reservist in the US Air Force being deployed to Afghanistan from 2019 to 2020.  He was serving as a JTAC-Instructor for the Kansas Air National Guard, assigned to the 284^th Air Support Operations Squadron, Smoky Hill ANG Range.

He was a Shawnee Heights graduate and enjoyed fishing and golfing with the boys.

He married Abby Walker on June 8, 2013 in Tecumseh, KS.  She survives.  Wes is also survived by three children, Jaxson Harvey Kubie, Wyatt Benjamin Kubie, and Kennedy Irene Kubie; parents, Bruce and Diana Kubie; seven siblings, Will Kubie, Craig (Sarah) Kubie, David Kubie, Tiffany (Jason) Kubie Piper, twin brother, Brad (Cami) Kubie, Joanna (Mario) Bambo and Krystin Kubie.  A paternal grandmother, Beverly Kubie, father and mother-in-law, David and Michele Walker and thirteen nephews and nieces also survive.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harvey Kubie and his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Mildred Roberts.

Wes will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6^th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.  These funds will be designated to be used for his children at a later date.
