Judy L. Flowers, age 87, of Topeka, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Stormont Vail Hospital.
She was born the daughter of Francisco and Mary (Trinidad) Muñoz on October 21, 1937, in Topeka, KS. Judy graduated from Topeka High School in 1955 and attended Clark’s Business College.
On April 19, 1957, Judy married her beloved sweetheart, Daniel A. Flowers in Lyndon, KS. Together they shared nearly 68 years of marriage. Her working career included in the auditing and service division for Sears, as well as in the accounting department for publishers-Palmer News.
Judy was a devout Christian who loved the Lord, her family and husband. Throughout the years, she was the greatest supporter of her children’s sports and activities, even keeping detailed statistics for her children’s sports teams. She was an active supporter and volunteer of Fiesta Mexicana, and she was a big help when her daughter won Fiesta Queen. Judy was an avid sports enthusiast and fan of the Kansas Jayhawks. She was the happiest when dancing, singing and being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel; children, Christopher “Chris” Flowers of Topeka, Jaime Flowers of Topeka, Danielle Stiner (Rodney) of Topeka, Craig Joseph “C.J.” Flowers of Topeka, and Francine Chockley (Justin) of Topeka. Other survivors include her loving grandchildren, Thomas Flowers, Aaron Stiner, Eric Stiner, Ian Stiner, Jaren Flowers, Sergio Cisneros, Santiago Cisneros, Savannah Cisneros; as well as seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Judy also leaves behind her four siblings, Barbara Barron (Robert) of Topeka, Arthur Muñoz of Topeka, Manuel Muñoz of Topeka, and Robert Muñoz of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings, Frank Muñoz, David Muñoz, Gloria Vela, Anita Ross, and Norma Ortiz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 5-8:00 P.M., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, March 20, at Topeka Baptist Church, 4500 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66610. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery-Topeka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Judy's memory to a charity of the donor's choice. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
