Judy Yvonne Gomez, entered into rest on January 27, 2019 at the House at Midland Care.
She was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 13, 1957 the daughter of Fernando and Jeannette (Gray) Delgado.
Judy worked for Santa Fe., the State of Kansas, EDS, BC/BS, Yellow Freight, Shawnee County Courthouse and most recently was a Contact Representative for the VA Hospital.
She enjoyed painting, coloring, crochet, cooking, walking, listening to music, playing solitare and going on cruises. She was an avid KU Basketball fan and enjoyed watching football. Judy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and was an animal lover.
She married Michael Gomez and they later divorced. Survivors include her three daughters, Angela (Arturo) Clarke, Emily Delgado and Alicia Delgado-Gomez, four grandchildren, Olivia Delgado, Za’Vion Delgado, Justin McCoy and Bryson Delgado-Whayne, and four great grandchildren, Dominic, Malachi, Amar’e and Jordyn, and two sisters, Cynthia Penrod and Teresa Berroth. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Saturday, February 2nd, from 10:00 until 12:00 noon where her family will receive friends, followed by a rosary and celebration of her life. Inurnment will be held in Mt. Hope at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Helping Hands Humane Society, Midland Hospice Care or St. Matthew Catholic Church and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
