June F. (Meyer) Schiffelbein, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at her home in Topeka.
She was born the daughter of William and Ceora Laverne (Ferrell) Meyer on January 22, 1941, in Topeka, KS.
On September 15, 1962, June married John Schiffelbein at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. They shared 46 years of marriage until John’s passing on January 6, 2009. June loved spending time with her family and being involved in all her family’s activities. Whether it was running 5K’s with her daughter Stephanie, taking long walks, or working in the yard, June was always on the go. Holidays were always a special time and June made sure she was always prepared with her cooking and decorating the entire house. She was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends and in her spare time, she volunteered with Let’s Help, and was a devout Catholic with her husband John.
Survivors include her son, Gregg Schiffelbein (Susan), daughter, Stephanie Haberkorn (Jon), and son, Jeff Schiffelbein. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Nathan, Jason, Nicholas, and Laci Haberkorn, Kelsey Hunchusky (Cale), Gregory, Alaina, Morgan, Joelle and Madison Schiffelbein; four great-grandchildren, Joseph, Sophia, Brylie, and Ryker; two brothers, William “Billy” Meyer (Naomi) and Mark Meyer; as well as two sisters, Becky Brewer (Don), and Martha Massey (Dean).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two grandchildren, Trevor Paul Haberkorn and Samantha Spring Schiffelbein; and three sisters, Peggy, Nancy and Helen.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 A.M., all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
