Linda A. Cox

Linda A. Cox, age 77, of Topeka, KS, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Topeka.  

She was born the daughter of the late Donald J. and Mary I. (Crider) Schuetz on July 16, 1946, in Horton, KS. Linda was a 1964 graduate from Horton High School. 

On June 11, 1983, she married James “Jim” R. Cox at Assumption Catholic Church. Together, they shared 40 years of marriage. 

She was a long-time, hardworking, and dedicated administrative assistant for KDOT. Linda was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was very devoted to her faith and to her church. Always willing to assist in the church kitchen and volunteer with Germanfest. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed cooking, gardening, animals, and spending time her with family. She will be best remembered as a person who exemplified being selfless, non-judgmental, and always willing to donate to those in need. Although she has departed from this earth, we take comfort in knowing all her acts of kindness and her true passion to help others. 

Survivors include her beloved husband, Jim Cox; two sons, Don Cox and Timothy Doran; six daughters, Joletta Doran, Angelina Millstead, Tina Anfang (Michael), Alisha Cox, Christy Cox, and Darcy Gibson (Stacey). Other survivors include numerous cherished grandchildren & great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Kay Swendson (Steve), and Beth Meyer (Greg)

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Ave., Topeka, KS 66616.

She will be laid to rest at Ozawkie Cemetery at a later date. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Linda’s memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
