Lucille Marie (Juarez) Noriega

February 21, 1934 — November 11, 2018

Lucille Marie (Juarez) Noriega, with family and friends praying at her side, passed quietly into the arms of the Lord on November 11, 2018.

 Lucille was born in Valley Falls, KS on February 21, 1934, the daughter of Asensio and Benita (Aguilar) Juarez. 

Lucille had a rewarding 40-year career dedicated to caring for others as a Nurse’s Aide at Presbyterian Manor.  She enjoyed life to the fullest.  Her passion was her family and making lifetime memories for the many lives that she touched.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, dancing and listening to music and was a big supporter of several charitable organizations in Topeka.  She had an amazing journey ending each year spending time with family and friends at the Noriega Christmas celebration.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ebaristo Noriega on October 16, 2014.  She is survived by five sons, Everett, Jr. (Beth) Noriega, Delmont (Virginia) Noriega, George Noriega, Patrick (Tasha) Noriega and Paule Noriega, four daughters, Nina (Jimmy) Noriega Guerrero, Cindy Marie (Joe) Bermudez, Patricia Marie Noriega Anguiano, and Delores Benita (Hector) Rodriguez.  Three siblings, Rito Juarez, Catalina Ortiz, Mary Ellen (Pete) Mosqueda along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.  She was also preceded in death by eleven siblings, Teresa Guerrero, Serafina Blanco, Mary Hernandez, Lupe Reyes, Juanita Munoz, Eddie Juarez, Francisco Juarez, Roberto Juarez, Esperanza Ramirez, Gloria Juarez, Lucille Juarez and a grandson, Gianni Sabastian Noriega.   

A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, following the rosary the family will receive friends until 11:00 a.m. A celebration of her life will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to Midland Care Hospice or to the American Cancer Society sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.  Mrs. Noriega’s family thanks the dedicated staff, doctors and specialists at Midland Care Hospice.
