Marcella "Marcy" Clara Anderson

Marcella “Marcy” Didde Anderson, age 99, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Topeka.

She was born the daughter of Frank and Clara (Strutzel) Didde on May 27, 1925, in Olpe, KS. She was a 1943 graduate from St. Joseph High School in Olpe, KS.

Her working career included working in the teletype department for the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, Merchant’s National Bank, and retiring from Simplex Time Recorder in 1983.

On September 6, 1948, Marcy married Howard E. Anderson in Olpe, KS. Together, they shared 76 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband; sons, David L. Anderson (Barbara) of Newton, KS; and Gregory P. Anderson (Cherie) of Brooksville, FL. Other survivors include two grandsons, Andrew and Jacob Anderson; one step granddaughter, Elyse Miller (Chris) and their son, Landon; sister, Maybelle Scheetz of Topeka; and a brother, Arthur Didde of Burnsville, MN.

Marcy loved to square dance and was a 23-year member of the Swinging Squares Square Dance Club. Her other passions included gardening and spending time with her family.

Marcy will lie in state from 5-8:00 P.M., with a parish rosary at 6:00 P.M., on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, December 6, at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions can be made in Marcy's memory to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
