Margaret Mary Buergin

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Margaret Mary Buergin of Topeka, KS passed away at the age of 72 at the Midland Hospice House.

She was the beloved daughter of Raymond Gregory and Constance Muriel (Jones) Buergin. Margaret was born on May 3, 1949, in Albuquerque, NM. Shortly after her birth, they relocated to Long Beach, CA. She lived there and in Apple Valley, CA with her family during her early years. Margaret was a 1967 graduate from Victory Valley High School in Victorville, CA.

Margaret was a child of the 60's. She was a free spirit who was fond of wandering and followed her heart. In her early adult life, she spent time in many areas of the Western US, where she lived in and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors. Margaret found joy in hiking, camping, rock climbing and living off of the land.

During her middle years she lived in Southern California with her dear friend Constance Porter. The two founded a business together and enjoyed their life full of friends and family. They later moved to Beatty, OR.

In 2008 Margaret moved to Topeka, KS to be close to her parents. Here she worked at Brewster Place, where they were residents. Margaret spent her spare time baking, reading, and enjoying time with her family. She fulfilled her life-long dream of traveling to Europe in 2014, accompanied by her mother and sisters.

Her free spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her two brothers, Gregory Buergin, of Greeley, CO, James Buergin of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Mary Erwin and her husband, Ronald, and Elizabeth Paris and her husband, Timothy, both of Topeka; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
