Margarita Perez Munoz, 85, of Topeka, passed away on January 5, 2022 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was born in Duluth, Kansas on June 2, 1936 the daughter of Julian and Catalina (Soto) Perez.
Margarita worked as a sales associate for K-Mart in Kansas City, and most recently for the Walmart in Bonner Springs.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed caring for and spoiling her family. She loved plants, shopping, embroidery work and collecting family pictures.
Margarita married Emelio Montez Munoz in Duluth, Kansas on January 19, 1952. He survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Linda Klepper and husband Michael of Sabetha, Patricia Trusty and husband Clyde of Kansas City, Ks., and a son, Monte Munoz of Topeka, seven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren with one on the way, and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Jake Perez, Paul Perez and wife Marcella, John Perez, Elaine Ratcliff and husband Leon.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Everett Perez, Vic Perez, Louise Ivy, Katie Coots, Betty Sinor and Marcella Ensley.
Margarita will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13th, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. where her family will receive friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 14th, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory in lieu of flowers to the charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
