Marilyn D. Krische, age 87, of Winnebago, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
She was born the daughter of Frederick “Fred” Oliver and Clara Adele (Schamle) Straub on August 5, 1935, in Topeka, KS. Marilyn was a 1953 graduate from Hayden Catholic High School. On April 21, 1956, she married James “Jim” Krische at the Church of the Assumption. Together, they shared almost 67 years of marriage.
Marilyn enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, and was an excellent golfer, with two, “hole in one’s.” She was a hard worker and dedicated employee. After 38 years of employment with the Hollymatic Corporation, Marilyn retired as General Manager.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Jim Krische; son, Steve Krische; daughter, Cindy Reed (Scott); daughter, Jan Gettys (Jonathan); six grandchildren, Dr. Michael Reed, Daniel Reed, David Reed, Nicole Neely, LeighAnn Krische, and Silas Krische; four great-grandchildren, Victor Neely, Antonio Dunn, Roman Dunn, and Ra Delaney. Other survivors include three brother-in-laws, Msgr. Vincent Krische, Larry Krische, Bob Krische; and one sister-in-law, Lois Phillips (Tom).
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Matthew Reed; brother-in-laws, Fr. Frank Krische, and Don Boos; three sister-in-laws, Joan Boos, Lynne Krische, and Sue Krische.
She will lie in state from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., followed by a rosary at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Marilyn's memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
