Marlin "Big Mac" Henderson, age 82, of Topeka, KS, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2022.
He was born the son of James Smith and Juanita Henderson on December 23, 1939. Marlin married Charlotte Kay Ridley on June 23, 1963, in Lyndon, KS. Together, they shared 36 of marriage. Charlotte passed away on January 7, 2000.
“Big Mac” as he was referred to, was employed and retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 30 plus years. He enjoyed playing pool, hanging out with friends and family, YWCA and yardwork. He especially enjoyed gambling and taking trips out to Las Vegas with his friends. Big Mac was sharp dresser and always stayed up with current men’s fashion.
Survivors include his beloved daughter, Kandi Henderson; two granddaughters, Shantel and Jaylan Henderson; and a sister, Loyce Jean Lafleur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte; daughter, Stacy Denise Henderson; and two brothers, James Smith, Jr., and Norman E. “Jack” Henderson.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10-11:00 A.M., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M., both at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
