Martin “Bud” Esser, 73, of Topeka, KS died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus.
Bud was born March 19, 1948 in Topeka, KS the son of Martin and Lillian Esser.
He graduated from Hayden High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Bud owned and operated Esser’s Dental Lab recently retiring in January of this year. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and in his spare time enjoyed shooting sporting clays and fishing.
He married Patricia Herman on November 25, 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Cyndi Esser, Erin (John Barber) Esser, a brother, Jim (Patti) Esser and a grandson, Trace Esser.
Bud will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where his family will receive friends beginning 5:00 p.m. and concluding with a Parish Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Cremation will follow with placement of his urn at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in Bud’s memory to St. Joseph/Sacred Heart Parish sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
