Melinda M. Feltner, 70, of Topeka, passed away on May 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 22, 1951, the daughter of Joe and Amelia (Tinoco) Ramirez. Melinda was a 1969 graduate of Topeka High School.
Melinda was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed doing puzzles, cooking, sewing, reading, playing BINGO, and especially hanging out with her family.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the Widows Group of Faith.
Melinda married David Feltner in Topeka on November 22, 1969. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2014. She is survived by her children, Raquel (Junior) Barajas of Topeka, Patti (Brad) Kirk of Rossville, Rebecca (Gordon) Bright of Killeen, TX, Rose (Brad) Abrahams of Silver Lake, Mary Feltner of Topeka, 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Rose (Gary) Cook of Brownwood, TX, Gabriel (Cecilia) Ramirez, Lalo (Kathleen) Ramirez, Grace (Rodney) Doty, Patti (Doug) Stroth, and Leticia (Charlie) Blocher all of Topeka. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Manuel Ramirez and a sister Evelyn Ramos.
Melinda will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Parish Rosary prayed at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Midland Hospice Care or the St. Francis Cancer Center and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
