Mersedez “Peggy” Pagan, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Rolling Hills Health & Rehab.
She was born September 24, 1932, in Garden City, Kansas, to Andrew Esquibel and Ines (Dominguez) Esquibel.
Peggy worked as a housekeeper at Manor Care for 13 years. She also worked for Capper Foundation and the City of Topeka.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching TV, sending cards, talking to friends and family, babysitting her nieces and nephews, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.
Peggy is survived by a sister, Pauline Medina of Rialto, California, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Frances Cervantez and Jullia Jaramillo; and brother, Saladino Esquibel.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where a rosary will be prayed at 5:30pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Friday, March 22, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
