Michael Nejat Armay

Michael Nejat Armay, 71, of Topeka, passed away at his home on November 24, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Anakara, Turkey on January 15, 1950 the son of Kemal Mehmet and Bedia Armay.

Michael was a Business Manager for Mack Trucks from 1977 to 1985, and worked in the same capacity for Payless Shoe Source from 1985 until his retirement.

He married Deborah J. Graver in Karamusel, Turkey on June 10, 1977.  She survives.  He is also survived by a daughter Canan Armay and her husband Darrel Arredondo and their two children, Alyssa and Andrew Arredondo, and two sons, Kemal Armay and Mehmet Armay, and a brother Vedat Armay and his wife Frances in Turkey.  He was predeceased by his parents.

Michael enjoyed music, playing cards, fashion, working crossword puzzles and traveling.  He loved his homeland of Turkey and was very close to his Turkish friends.  He especially loved his family and was a genuine person.

Michael was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held in Turkey at a later date.
