Michael Joseph Flowers

Michael Joseph Flowers, age 81, of Topeka, passed away on September 29, 2024, at his home. 

He was born July 15, 1943, in Topeka, to Joe Flowers and Henrietta (Martinez) Flowers. Michael graduated from Topeka High School in 1961. 

Michael enlisted in the United States Army in 1965. 

He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a yardman and switchman, retiring in 1988. 

Michael enjoyed coin collecting, taking walks, reading, and watching western movies. 

He married Josephine Montez. They later divorced. He later married Anne Phillips. She passed August 21, 2012. 

Survivors include his children, Michael Derek Flowers and wife Molly Northup of Topeka, Lenor Flowers of Topeka; siblings Rita Flowers of Lawrence, Philip Flowers and wife Sharron of Bacliff, Texas, Daniel & Judy Flowers of Topeka; grandchildren, Derek Flowers, Monica Perry-Flowers, and Kale Ralston; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Anne. 

A rosary will be prayed at 5:30pm and visitation with the family from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, October 14.  A funeral service will be 10:00am, Tuesday, October 15, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.
