Nina Delores Hernandez

Nina Delores Hernandez, 73, of Topeka, passed away on December 1, 2022, at Plaza West Care Center in Topeka.

She was born September 15, 1949, in Topeka to Paul O. and Christina Gutierrez. 

Ms. Hernandez received her education in Topeka, graduating from Highland Park High School in 1968.

Ms. Hernandez worked as a nurse’s aide in the healthcare industry. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family on special occasions, like birthday parties, cookouts, and picnics.  She loved music, cooking, and baking delicious cherry cheesecakes and doughnuts. 

Survivors include sisters, Susanna M. Hernandez and Deb (Jeffery) Hunter; sister in law, Lorie Hernandez; nieces, Jade Warren and Monica Kieffer; nephew, Michael James Hernandez II; great-nephew, Jamison Warren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Michael J. Hernandez Sr. and Vincent Gutierrez.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:30am, Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  A rosary will be prayed at 11:30am, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.
