Patricia R. (Cuevas) Perez

Patricia R. (Cuevas) Perez, age 83, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at McCrite Plaza in Topeka.

She was born the daughter of Raul and Sophia (Espinoza) Cuevas on December 17, 1940, in Topeka, KS. Patricia graduated from Seaman High School. She met, fell in love, and married Henry Perez on May 16, 1964, in Topeka. Together, they shared 60 years of wonderful marriage. 

Patricia was a devoted and active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa, KS. She attended adoration chapel, helped with funeral luncheons, helped in various positions with the church and was a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella. Patricia worked as a supervisor for Southwestern Bell / AT&T. She loved to cook, attend mass, and spend time with her family, especially with Henry. 

Survivors include her beloved husband, Henry Perez; sister, Christina Cook; brother, Richard Cuevas and his wife Joyce, and brother, Robert Cuevas. Other survivors include a loving extended family of numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Emily Carmona; brother, Ralph Cuevas; and a brother-in-law, Ronald “Butch” Cook.

Patricia will lie in state from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., followed by a parish rosary at 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., at the church. Entombment will follow at Holy Trinity Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Patricia’s memory to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and/or Elara Caring Hospice. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home. 

The family of Patricia would like to thank the nurses and staff at McCrite Plaza as well as Elara Caring Hospice for their exceptional care, especially Paula Canfield, her hospice nurse.
