Patrick F. Perez, age 61, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Stormont Vail Hospital.
He was born the son of Richard M. and Victoria M. (Rodriguez) Perez on October 24, 1963.
On October 12, 1991, Patrick married his sweetheart, Debra K. Weaver at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka. Together, they shared 33 years of marriage. He was currently employed at the Shawnee County Juvenile Detention Center for the past 26 years. The last 20 years, he was a court transport, a position he truly loved.
For most of his life, Patrick was an avid baseball and softball player. Never one to sit idle, he would be outside playing frisbee golf, playing pool, and throwing darts. He was a sports enthusiast, rooting for his Oakland Raiders, New York Yankees, Duke University, Nebraska Cornhuskers and other various sports teams. Patrick’s favorite time was spending time with his family as well as driving around and being in company with his wife, Debra.
Survivors include his wife, Debra K. Perez; son, Patrick F. Perez II; daughter, Victoria A.C. Perez; son Zachariah M. Perez; as well as his cherished granddaughters, Jacqueline, Aviana, and Ellena. Other survivors include his sister, Teresa Scheck and her husband Bart; a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Perez; and a loving extended family that includes numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Mark Perez and Richard “Rick” Perez.
Visitation with viewing will be held from 5-8:00 P.M., on Thursday, January 9, 2024, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, January 10, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Cremation will follow after the services.
Memorial contributions can be made in Patrick's memory to the American Cancer Society and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
