Patsy "Pat" Jean Sterbenz

Patsy “Pat” Jean Sterbenz, age 85, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at McCrite Plaza Topeka.

She was born the daughter of Albert H. and Ida M. (Miller) Bass on July 27, 1935 in Wichita, KS.

Pat married Donald L. Sterbenz on September 6, 1952 at Holy Name Church in Topeka. Together, they shared 68 years of loving marriage.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In her younger years, Pat was very active in the Girl Scouts. She loved arts and crafts, especially, crocheting and sewing. She and Don traveled extensively and visited 48 states, always visiting and attending catholic churches in that particular area. Pat and Don enjoyed and taught country dancing for a number of years. Her family was the upmost importance to her and she cherished her time as a homemaker while raising her five children. After raising her children, she was self-employed in the family business as an office manager for Sterbenz & Co Painting.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Donald; daughter, Debbie Schmidtlein and (Jim); son, David Sterbenz and (Roseanna); daughter, Brenda Cook and (Mitch); daughter, Donna Marney and (Perry); son, Dan Sterbenz and (Lori); 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 9-10:00 A.M. with a parish rosary at 10:00 A.M. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman Ave., Topeka, KS 66616. Burial of cremains will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions can be made in Pat’s loving memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and/or Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21^st St., Topeka, KS 66604. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
