Paul Keith Jeffers, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, May 13, 2024, in Topeka.
He was born the son of Keith and Carolyn (Apley) Jeffers on July 17, 1964, in Kansas City, MO and grew up in Lee’s Summit, MO.
After graduating from high school, Paul attended Central Missouri University in Warrensburg, MO, then he worked in the Kansas City area in the banking industry. After assisting with the construction of his home in Raymore, MO, the lure of the Rocky Mountains brought Paul to Evergreen, CO. While in Evergreen, he met, fell in love, and married Sharon Neff on October 6, 2001. Together, they shared 22 years of marriage.
Paul was a man of many interests. He enjoyed learning and obtaining knowledge by reading the Wall Street Journal, Denver Post, and the Topeka Capitol Journal and returned to UCM to complete his Bachelor of Science degree. He was very easy to talk to and he loved to have conversations with friends, family, and strangers. His kind nature would leave a lifelong impact on the ones he became friends with. In his younger years, Paul was active with the Methodist church in Lee’s Summit and was involved in various church groups. When his sons were born, he loved sharing his knowledge of nature and creativity while being a cub scout pack leader. It brought Paul the greatest joy while fishing, camping, and working on projects with his sons. With his carpenter skills, Paul enjoyed building and working on projects on and around the home. In his spare time, he would find a good deal at an auction and was able to repurpose items he purchased. His endless humor could brighten anyone’s day. As Paul’s death brings much sorrow, we can take comfort knowing that Paul left an everlasting impact on his family, friends, and anyone he came across.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Jeffers; two sons, Ben and Edward Jeffers; father and mother, Keith and Carolyn Jeffers; brother, Lee Jeffers and his wife Diana; sister, Lauren Creason; niece, Miranda Pearson; mother-in-law, Cheryl Phillips; and a brother-in-law, Michael Neff.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edward R. Neff; grandparents George R. and Mary (Lonberger) Jeffers; grandparents Kenneth and Beulah Mae (Young) Apley and extended family.
