Phillip John Herrera

Phillip John Herrera, 31, of Topeka, passed away on December 10, 2022, at his home.

He was born July 28, 1991, in Topeka, the son of Phillip Manuel Herrera and Andrea Marie (Mendez) Herrera.  Phillip grew up in Topeka and graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 2009. 

Phillip enjoyed music, playing with his nephews, and watching movies. 

He worked as a package handler for FedEx.

Survivors include his parents, Phillip and Andrea Herrera of Topeka; sisters, Anissa Herrera-Hunt and husband Riley of Topeka, Carlie Herrera of Topeka; grandmother, Virginia Mendez of Topeka; nephews, Julian Herrera-Hunt of Topeka, Elias Herrera-Hunt of Topeka; aunts and uncles, Gabby Villalpando of Overland Park, John and Nancy Herrera of Olathe, Judy and Tracy Rogers of Andover, Beatrice Herrera of Garden City, Bobby and Danis Herrera of Garden City, Tommy and Josie Herrera of Shawnee, Steve and Jennifer Herrera of Topeka, Pat and Sabrina Herrera of Garden City, Becky and Brad Herron of Kansas City, Kansas, Vicky and Paul Olson of Garden City, Zelda and Eric Mizell of Garden City, Francine and Jose Varela of Wiggins, Colorado, Curtis and Miel Herrera of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as many cousins and extended relatives.

Phillip was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Rita Herrera, and maternal grandfather, Joseph Mendez, and uncle, Brian Herrera.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 18^th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church, where a rosary will be prayed at 5:30pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 19^th at 10:00am at St. Matthew Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
