Phyllis Rocha, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Lexington Park Health & Rehab.
She was born July 11, 1949, in Topeka, to Rudolph and Beatrice Ramirez Rocha. Phyllis graduated from Topeka High School in 1967.
She worked as a paraprofessional with District 501.
Phyllis attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, collecting stuffed bears, and dancing. She was a Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State fan.
She is survived by five sons, John Hernandez (Svetlana) of Kansas City, Kansas, Phillip Hernandez of Topeka, Kansas, Nicholas Hernandez of Topeka, Kansas, Andrew Hernandez of Denver, Colorado, and James Hernandez of Denver, Colorado; four brothers; five sisters; seventeen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nicki Hidalgo; and granddaughter, Sophia Hernandez.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Thursday, February 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka, Kansas.
