Placido Juarez-Martinez

Placido Juarez-Martinez, age 68, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at The University of Kansas Health System-St. Francis Campus.

Placido was born the son of German and Mercedes (Martinez) Juarez on October 5, 1952 in Teotihuacan, Mexico.

On November 5, 1972, Placido married Guadalupe Pedroza in Mexico. Together, they shared 48 years of marriage.

Placido was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He enjoyed volunteering with church activities and was an Usher. He loved to spend time at the Casino, watching soccer and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his beloved wife of the home, Guadalupe Pedroza; three children, Hector Juarez, Jorge Juarez, Haide Requenes and her husband Aldo; 11 grandchildren, Alexa, Hoshi, Axel, Yanni, Carlitos, Natalia, Rebeca, Oliver, Aramara, Manuelito and Santiago; one brother, Valentin Juarez; four sisters, Luisa Juarez, Sabina Juarez, Alejandra Montiel and Valentina Juarez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Placido will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 5, at 1:30 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 201 NE Chandler St., Topeka, KS 66616. Burial will take place on Monday, December 7, at 9:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
