Rene Escalante, age 45, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving immediate family on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the St. Luke's Health System in Kansas City, MO.
He was born the son of Javier and Lucille “Lucy” (Adame) Escalante on November 8, 1979, in Topeka, KS. Rene graduated from Topeka High School, and he was currently employed at Frito-Lay.
Rene enjoyed listening to music, hanging out with his friends, attending concerts and traveling. His favorite holiday was Christmas and being able to spend time with his entire family. He also enjoyed Halloween. You could find Rene always cheering on his beloved North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team and rooting for his Kansas City Chiefs. He was a life-long member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
The greatest day came when Rene became a father to his precious daughter, Liliana. He lived for his daughter and his family always came first. You knew Rene was in the room just by his bright smile. He lived life to the fullest and his ability to make everyone laugh always brought joy.
The loss of Rene leaves a hole in the heart of his family and friends, especially Liliana. We take comfort with the photos, memories and the laughs he provided while on this earth. He is now in the arms of the loving Lord.
Survivors include his parents, Javier and Lucy Escalante; cherished daughter, Liliana Ferrer Escalante; brother, Javier Escalante Jr. (Deb); sister, Maria Guerrero (Matt); nieces, Alina & Ava Guerrero; nephew, Carlos Guerrero; girlfriend, Misty Dawn; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was greeted in the arms of those that have gone before him that include, paternal grandparents, Florentino & Adelina Escalante; maternal grandparents, Norberto Adame, Sr., & Dolores C. “Lola” Adame; and other extended family members.
