Richard "Rusty" Dean Hilderman

Richard “Rusty” Dean Hilderman, 77, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Midland Hospice House.

He was born April 20, 1946, in San Francisco, California, the son of Harry H. Hilderman and Anna Marie (Kincaid) Hilderman.  Rusty graduated from Highland Park High School in 1964. 

Rusty served in the United States Army Reserves from 1965-1971.

He married Teresa Miller, May 31^st, 1968.  They had two sons and later divorced in 1989.  Rusty married Marilyn Lopez Garcia, January 20, 1990, to this union he gained two daughters.  Marilyn survives of the home.

Rusty was a part owner of Professional Hearing Aid Associates for 42 years.  He had a passion for helping others hear better, and retired in 2012.

He was an avid dirt race car driver and had raced for four decades in six states.  Rusty had many wins over the years and created lifelong friendships.  He also enjoyed Kansas City Chiefs football and fishing.

Other survivors include sons, Greg Hilderman and Aaron Dean Hilderman (Jennifer); daughters, Crystal Frazier (Alan Jr.) and Chelby Cummings (Howy); brothers, Harry Howard Hilderman (Annette), Brad Hilderman (Stephanie); 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation with the family will be 3:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, June 29^th at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  The memorial service will be 10:00am, Friday, June 30^th at the funeral home, with inurnment at 11:30am at Mt. Hope Cemetery.  Casual attire is acceptable.
