Roger Albert Peralta, 63 of Topeka, passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, on April 7, 2023.
He was born on August 28, 1959, in Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents Mario Arturo Peralta, Sr. and Carmen B. (Del-Hierro) Peralta, as well as his son, Andrew Byler.
He graduated from High School in Topeka. He worked in the automotive industry as a painter for Laird Noller Ford in Lawrence. Roger was a musician, wrote music, played the drums and guitar in several bands over the years. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, volunteering at Topeka Baptist Church where he was a member and participated in bible study.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Dawn (Tichenor) Peralta, they were married on October 19, 1996. Other survivors include his children: Nicole McCollum (Brandon) of Topeka, Ashley Peralta of Topeka, Dillon Revell and fiance Adriana of Topeka. Siblings: Mario A. Peralta, Jr. (Devona), Sonia Leshko (Peter) of Tampa, Fl, Elizabeth Akerstrom (Michael) of Topeka, Diane Knebel (Johnnie) of Topeka, David Peralta (D'Ette) of Topeka, Mark P. Peralta (Lisa) of Kansas City, KS, Denise Peralta of Topeka. Grandchildren: Anantho Byler, Randy McCollum, Jimmy McCollum, Lydia Lehnherr, Colton Lehnherr; and many nieces and nephews.
Roger will lie in state on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Topeka Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission sent in care of the funeral home.
