Ronald James Hamilton of Topeka, passed away on December 2, 2018 at the age of 63. Ron graduated from Hayden High School in 1973, and the University of Kansas in 1977. Ron worked in the Juvenile Correctional Complex for several years before beginning an over 20 year career in the SRS division with the State of Kansas.
Ron was very socially active and belonged to numerous organizations. He enjoyed going to the Lawrence Barn Dance Association for contra dances and events.He was an active member of the Democratic Party. He was a lifelong member of the Jaycees. He was president of the Topeka Jaycees and held many offices in the Topeka and Kansas Jaycees. He was awarded the Ambassadorship to the National Jaycee Organization and received the International Award for Senatorship.
Ron is preceded in death by his father, James and nephews, John Paul Holthaus and Timothy Zeller. Ron is survived by his daughter, Emma, his mother Evelyn, siblings Vickie (Allan) Holthaus, Thomas (Carol) Hamilton, Cindy (Tim) Hund, Roger (Denise) Hamilton, and Pam (Wayne) Zeller and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A celebration of life will be on December 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4775 SW 21st St. Topeka, KS 66604.
