Rose Acosta, 90, of Topeka, KS died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
She was born May 20, 1931, in Topeka, the daughter of Jose and Julia “Chavez” Luna
Rose was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Grade School and worked in housekeeping at the Top of The First for over 20 years.
Rose married Carmen Acosta on September 3, 1949, in Topeka. They celebrated sixty years of marriage prior to his death on October 2, 2009. She is survived by two sons, Arthur (Eleanor) Acosta and Edmundo (Martha) Acosta all of Topeka, three daughters, Julia Viera of Utah, Rosemary (Tom) Rodriguez of Orlando, FL and Anna (Eulalio) Munoz of Topeka. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with several brothers and sisters also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made the Salvation Army sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
