Sharon J. Scheck

Sharon J. Scheck, age 83, of Topeka, KS, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Midland Hospice House. 

She was born the daughter of Eugene Eli and Anita L. (Ziprick) Desormiers on July 13, 1941, in Pawtucket, RI. 

On April 8, 1961, Sharon married her beloved husband, Francis “Frank” Scheck at St. Joseph Church in Topeka. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage. 

Sharon spent her life raising her children and taking care of her family. Her faith and devotion to the lord was of the upmost importance as she was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church. During her leisure time, Sharon enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, bowling, shopping, listening to her favorite musical artist, Barry Manilow, and eating at her favorite restaurants. Her greatest love was the family she and Frank created during their marriage, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. 

Survivors include her husband, Frank Scheck; four sons, Bret Scheck (Tamara), Bart Scheck (Teresa), Frank Scheck (Leah), Brock Scheck (Kelly); and two daughters, Lori Scheck, and Lisa McAllister (Randy). Other survivors include her 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Desormiers (Carolyn), and Ted Desormiers.

Sharon will lie in state from 5-8:00 P.M., with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 P.M., on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, January 25, at the church. Cremation will follow after the services, and she will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made in Sharon’s memory to Midland Care Hospice. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
