Sharon Elizabeth Waters

Sharon Elizabeth Waters, 79, of Topeka, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 7, 2023.

She was born October 14, 1943, in Topeka, the daughter of Carl R. Blevins and Elizabeth A. (Castleberry) Blevins.  Sharon graduated from Topeka High School in 1961 and attended Washburn University.

Sharon has been a childcare provider for over 30 years.

She was a longtime member of the Laureate Zeta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Civic Sorority for over 50 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the movies, and visiting the zoo.

Survivors include daughters, Heather O’Connor of Albany, Georgia and Staci Hawkins of Topeka, Kansas; brother, Timothy Blevins of Mayetta, KS; sisters, Christy Levings of Olathe, Kansas and Melissa Brown of Herber Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Dustin Townsend, Troy Townsend, Elizabeth O’Connor, Raeanne Williams, Casey Patterson, Mark Garcia, Sam Waters III, Gaige Christopher, Taylor Hawkins, and Charli Hawkins; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her children, Gretchen Townsend and Sam Waters Jr. and brother, Carl Blevins Jr., and sister, Kimberly Lutz.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, and funeral services will follow at 11:00am.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
