Sierra Lou Gorden, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at her home.
She was born April 10, 1941, in Washington County, Kansas, to Frank Jacob Ryser and Esther Bertha (McClaughry) Ryser.
Mrs. Gorden worked hard all her life. For the majority, she worked as a cook for Coffee Time in Grantville, Kansas, Eagle Airport in Eagle, Colorado, and Arturo’s in Gypsum, Colorado. She also was an over the road truck driver for a few years.
She raised greyhound dogs, enjoyed crafting, and collecting country music records.
Mrs. Gorden was baptized in the Washington County Christian Church.
She married Roy L. Gorden on March 18, 2003, in Reno, Nevada. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include daughters, Lori McNary (John), Toby Allen of Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren, Nikki Reed (Gerald), Andy McNary (Raelynn), Jamie Ramsdell (Shaun) of Topeka, Kansas; great grandchildren, Tanner Reed and Spencer Reed of Topeka, Kansas; brothers, Norman Ryser, Larry Ryser (Ginger), Roger Ryser (Gayla), Brad Ryser (Linda) of Montrose, Colorado, Darrell Ryser (Bonnie) of Mulvane, Kansas, Ron Ryser (Judy) of El Dorado, Kansas; sisters, Karon McClean, Mary DeVincentis (Joe) of Montrose, Colorado, and her twin sister Sandy Harris (Bill) of Eagle, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603.
Inurnment will be in Ozawkie Cemetery, Ozawkie, Kansas.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
