William "Bill" Kaberline, Sr.

William “Bill” Kaberline, Sr., age 92, of Topeka, KS, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Topeka.

He was born the son of John and Catherine (Burghart) Kaberline on January 2, 1929, in Topeka, KS.

Bill served with pride in the United States Army. In 1948, Bill joined the Knights of Columbus Council #2608, and was a member for 73 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #400.

On June 27, 1953, Bill married Donna Jean Williams at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They shared 51 years of marriage before Donna’s passing on December 28, 2004. He was an active member of Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish. Bill enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes, car races and gardening. He was an avid sports fan, cheering for KU, Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Survivors include his two daughters, Paula Hoffman, Belinda Johnson and her husband Craig; two sons, Tim Kaberline and his wife Jeannine, and Joe Kaberline; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Kaberline, Richard Kaberline and his wife Marian; and a sister, Patricia Vinning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; son, William “Billy” Kaberline, Jr.; daughter, Karen Kaberline; son-in-law, William Hoffman; siblings, Mary Jacobs, George Kaberline, John Kaberline and Lydia Porubsky.

Bill will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, with a Parish Rosary being held at 5:00 P.M., with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 227 SW Van Buren St., Topeka, KS 66603. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions can be made in Bill's memory to Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
