Gabriel Timothy Torrez

Gabriel Timothy Torrez, 59, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on February 12, 2019 at Stormont Vail Hospital surrounded by his family. Gabriel was born on January 24, 1960. Son of Vincent and Marcella ‘Ochoa’ Torrez.

Gabriel was an avid softball player and loved watching Kung Fu movies with his brothers. He enjoyed being outside, doing yard work, and grilling. He loved his two grandchildren more than anything. Gabriel treasured playing Thomas the Train with Collin, and watching cat movies with Kaylie. If you asked anyone about Gabriel, they would say that he valued helping people. If anyone needed the help or would ask anything from him, he was there for them in an instant, no questions asked.

Gabriel is preceded in death by a brother John Torrez and a sister Patricia Torrez.

He is survived by both of his parents; daughter Lynsay Torrez; son Sam Torrez; brothers, Vincent (Anita) Torrez, Mark (Rita) Torrez, Paul Torrez, Martin (Susan) Torrez, and Raymond (Kim) Torrez; a sister Maria Ellsperman; and grandchildren Collin and Kaylie Lehman.

He will be missed by so many.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 17 at Brennan Mathena Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 18, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Private family inurnment will follow.
