Thomas Price

March 22, 1961 — November 3, 2021

Thomas Jay Price, 60, of Berryton, Kansas, was called home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

Tom was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 22, 1961, the son of John Thomas Wesley Price and Shirley June Loewen Price.

Tom worked in the cable industry, was a Correction’s Officer for the Shawnee County Jail for 11 years and then in May of 1997, he began his journey as Owner/Operator of Sky.Com, where he took pride in working with structured wiring, satellite dishes and satisfying customers.

Above all, Tom, also known as “Tomcat” by many, was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, where he was one of the leading members of the men’s ministry Fight Club, along with Bibles, Bullets & Barbecue (BBB). He was a fisher-of-men, and through his daily walk, led others to Christ.

Spending time with family, friends and loved ones brought him joy. He loved to hunt, fish and smoke meats to share with others. Tom truly enjoyed sharing special moments with each of his family members, from his papa/granddaughter dates, traveling to his son’s baseball games, coaching and being everyone’s hype man.

Tom leaves behind his wife, Christine Runnebaum, of nearly 25 years. The two were married in Clinton, Kansas, June 7, 1997. He was previously married to Jeanie Hasting.

Tom also leaves behind: daughter, Kate, and husband Abraham Kohl, along with granddaughter, Linnie, of Clinton, Missouri; daughter, Kelly, and husband Christian Sosebee, along with granddaughters, Audrey and Sicily, of Kansas City, Kansas; son, Riley Price, and fiancé Stephanie, of Portales, New Mexico; sister, Gail and Michael Scott, of Topeka; brother, John and Jan Price, of Berryton; and brother, Kenneth and Shirley Price, of Topeka.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and twin sons, Luke and Riley, who died in infancy.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 7, from 4-7 p.m., at the First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m., at Fellowship Bible Church, in Topeka.
